Context and Text:

Satan says eat the fruit and your eyes will be opened.

Paul says Satan is “the god of the world” who has “blinded the minds” of unbelievers.

Jesus came to restore our spiritual vision.

A victorious Christian life requires imagination

Success in the Christian mission requires imagination

Pitfalls.

What keeps us from seeing God’s kingdom?

1.  unbelief  (Jn 11:25-27, 40; Mark 9:23; John 6:28-29; Mark 11:23-24)

2.  unforgiveness  (Mark 11:25; Matthew 7:1-5; 18:21-35)

3.  unconfessed sin  (Isaiah 59:1-2; Psalm 66:18-19; Matt. 5:8)

What keeps us from entering and functioning in the Kingdom of God?

1.  pride (James 4:6, sa Prov. 3:34)

--most high man:  (tupho:  high-minded, proud, infladed with self-conceit)

--inferiority complex  (injured pride)  (1 Cor. 12:14-20)

--superiority complex  (inflated pride)  (1 Cor. 12:21)

2.  preoccupation with self  (John 3:30; Luke 9:23-24)

3.  prejudice:  No no man after the flesh.  (2 Cor. 5:14-17; 1 Corinthians 1:11-13)
